Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are a widely-used type of antidepressant medication.
In 2011, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a safety alert on the SSRI antidepressant Celexa, warning that it can cause abnormal changes in the electrical activity (known as QT intervals) of your heart, which can lead to do abnormal heart rhythm and fatal heart attacks.
