Food choosing tip #1: Stick to healthy options when you eat out
·         Always choose the grilled, steamed or boiled option when you eat out.
·         Ask for all your sauces on the side as they’re likely to contain a high concentration of saturated fats.
·         Have half a portion of your meal. Either ask for the half portion if available, or request that half the portion be placed in a takeaway before serving.

Food choosing tip #2: Read all the labels on the food you buy

If the food doesn’t come with a label (like fresh fruit and veg), you can eat it. When it does have a label, make sure you read it.
·         Check the serving size. The ingredients might look healthy at a glance, but the serving size might be half of what’s in the container.
·         Look at the cholesterol and saturated fat content to ensure it’s within your diet’s limits.
Making the right diet choices to lower your cholesterol should be easier when using these two tips for choosing food no natter where you’re getting it from.
