After battling health issues for the past few years, poet, author and Civil Rights activist, Dr Maya Angelou is finally at rest.

At the age of 86, she died of heart problems, says her publicist Helen Brann. Friends, fans and colleagues took to Twitter to express their sadness. JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series posted this Maya Angelou quote: "If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be."
