Keeping the Cholesterol Myth alive is good news for Big Pharma's coffers…

by , 14 August 2013

It's got to be the biggest propaganda campaign in the history of medicine. That “bad” cholesterol number your doctor wants to see lower and lower is actually the wrong number to measure to see if you're at risk for a heart attack. As a result, millions of people are taking cholesterol lowering drugs without needing them… In fact, they're actually bad for you!

What really matters is the cholesterol particle size and density. You see, cholesterol is like a snowball in your bloodstream. If it’s light and “fluffy,” there’s nothing to worry about. But if it’s packed and dense, well that’s when you don’t want to get hit with it.

Clearing up one of the biggest health myths once and for all… Is Cholesterol bad for you or not?

You may be shocked to know, cholesterol is actually GOOD for you. It repairs arteries and prevents internal bleeding. Cholesterol is also essential for proper functioning of your brain, eyes, muscles and other key functions you would never want to compromise. And, when you walk into the sunlight, your skin uses cholesterol to help manufacture vitamin D.

But completely contrary to these facts, pharmaceutical companies have spent the past 25 years convincing everyone that cholesterol is a monster. Especially, LDL (the “bad” cholesterol). They’ve spent over two decades carving out a market for low cholesterol.

According to them, the only logical course of action is to drive LDL down to the lowest possible level. In fact, three drug companies are racing to be the first to create a drug that mimics the effects of a rare gene mutation that drives LDL cholesterol down into the TEENS.

The damaging effects of low cholesterol…

If these drug manufacturers succeed in getting this drug onto the market, it could be beneficial for the very few people with exceedingly high and dense LDL. But that’s a very small fraction of the population. Yet, one company has already devoted THREE factories to the production of this drug. Obviously, they intend to sell boatloads of it.

Meanwhile, over time, excessively low LDL levels could destroy the health of millions of people.  Especially older people, who’ll develop cataracts, muscle damage and memory loss.
