New study reveals nut consumption can lower your heart attack risk

To date, most nut health studies have been on  people from European descent, particularly those with a high socioeconomic status. 
For this reason, many people from other parts of the world have doubted these results. 
But this latest study’s changed all that. Scientists have decided to rerun their nut research, but this time they made changes that made their study a lot more relevant. 
First and most important, it was conducted on three cohorts, in order to produce a large and diverse sample. The cohorts included Americans of African and European descent who were predominantly of low socioeconomic status (SES) and Chinese individuals in Shanghai, China. 
The objective of this study was to examine the association of nut consumption with total and cause-specific mortality, and determine if these results were influenced but their SES.

Second, both Asian cohorts, nuts were limited to peanuts because the tree nut consumption was very small in this group. And because peanuts are cheap, ubiquitous and can be ground into delicious peanut butter, they’re accessible to everyone too. 
The study revealed that the nut consumption was associated with decreased cardiovascular disease mortality across different ethnic groups and among individuals from low SES groups. 
In other words, high peanut intake can significantly reduce your risk of dying regardless of your economical or social status. So eating nuts, especially  peanuts , is a cost-effective measure to improve your heart health.
