Want to get rid of a hangover naturally? Snack on these four foods!
There's nothing worse than waking up with a pounding headache and feeling awfully nauseous after a night of drinking, is there? Before you reach for the painkillers, you should know that there are a number of foods you can snack on that can help you cure your hangover!

The following four foods will assist a hangover recovery by stabilising your blood sugar and, in turn, prevent the pain, nausea and general malaise associated with a hangover. You're welcome!

Four foods that will help cure a hangover

#1: Fresh fruit
Fresh fruit contains sugar, which isn’t beneficial to a hangover. However, it’s also chock-full of fibre, which is fantastic for slowing your sugar absorption down. Some great fruits to snack on when you’re suffering a hangover include watermelon, which is super-hydrating, banana, which is high in vitamin B6 and potassium, and blueberries, which are brimming with antioxidants.

#2: Eggs
It’s the cysteine in eggs that make them excellent for assisting a hangover. Cysteine quickly breaks down the toxins that alcohol leaves behind in your body and essentially helps you detox. To reap the benefits of eggs as a hangover cure, you need to eat both the yolk and albumen, as you need the yolk to properly absorb the protein in the albumen.

Our doctors and our government have us trapped in an “endless pain cycle.”

#3: Tomato juice
Bloody Mary, anyone? As it turns out, it’s the tomato juice in the cocktail that’s touted the ultimate hangover cure that helps ease the headache. Tomatoes help with liver function, so you can bet that sipping on a glass full of them is a great, simple way to get a concentrated amount! If you can’t stomach tomato juice, fresh tomatoes are just as good.

#4: Coconut flour
If you’re one of those people who crave all things sweet and sugary when you’re hungover, you’ll want to ditch the processed sugars (which will only provide a spike and, later, a drop in your already low blood sugar) and choose coconut flour instead. You can use this white flour alternative to whip up a number of sweet treats, such as pancakes and baked goods. The protein and fibre in the flour will help your body bounce back, while its light, nutty flavour will satisfy your sweet tooth.

The above four foods are sure to be easy on your poor, acidified stomach. What do you eat to get rid of a hangover?
