I'm all up for natural beauty masks, and more often than not, I'll treat myself to a lovely homemade face mask made with fresh fruits. I always feel like I'm doing my skin a ton of good when I choose to do a natural mask over chemical face washes and cleansers.
Yesterday, I made a kiwi face mask, and I'm going to take you through the steps I followed. This mask will gently exfoliate, nourish and moisturise your skin, leaving it soft and supple. You can use this mask every other day if you have breakout or acne-prone skin.
For dry skin, use it once a week because the kiwi mask is a gentle exfoliant and you don't want to over-exfoliate dry skin. Enjoy!
How kiwi can improve your skin
Kiwi is an antioxidant laden fruit that provides numerous benefits to skin. You can use it in a face mask for any skin type! It’s rich in vitamin C and E, which are both powerful antioxidants that nourish, hydrate, smoothen and brighten skin.
Kiwi also contains a hefty serving of dietary fibre, which is essential for a number of bodily functions including digestion, hence keeping your skin acne-free.
How to make your own kiwi face mask
Let’s make this super-simple exfoliating kiwi mask, that’ll leave your face feeling fresh and soft! Only two extra ingredients are required – yoghurt and olive oil. Here’s the wonderful recipe.
Ingredients for the mask:
1 pureed kiwi
1 tbsp plain unsweetened yoghurt
1 tsp virgin organic olive oil

Here’s the plain truth. Diets alone don’t work.
How many diets have you been on, weight loss pills you’ve consumed, injections you’ve had to endure? You might have lost some weight but it’s probably all back on again…
The truth is that there is no magic solution to make the weight drop off.
The secret to successful weight loss isn’t starving yourself nor is it limiting your food choices or following a painful pattern of eating.
How to make the mask:
Collect the ingredients you need for the mask from your kitchen. Puree the kiwi in a food processor or blender.
Take the yoghurt out the fridge to let it warm up slightly.
In a small mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and stir well with a spoon.
Your final mixture should be creamy; not too drippy and not too thick. Don’t add any more yoghurt or olive oil or your mixture will become drippy.
How to apply the mask:

Firstly, check if you might be allergic to any ingredient in the mask by rubbing a small portion of the mixture onto your inner elbow, which has sensitive skin.
Before applying the mask, gather our hair into a ponytail behind your head. Put on a headband too if desired.
Also, remove all make-up from your face. Steam your face or have a quick splash with warm water to open up your pores, then pat dry with a towel.
Use your fingertips to slather a thick coat of the mask onto your face in a gentle circular motion.
Wear old clothing or an apron over your clothes so the mask doesn’t drip onto your clothes.
Let the mask settle and sink into your pores for 30 minutes. You can use this time to soak in a bubble bath or read a chapter of a book.
Gently scrub the dried up mask off your face with warm water and your fingertips. Then, splash your face with cold water to close up your pores. Pat dry with a clean towel.
You can store excess mixture in your fridge for up to five days.
