Sick of fatigue, allergies, skin rashes and autoimmunity? It's time to optimise your gut flora - here's how
Do you suffer from frequent headaches or allergies? How about fatigue or skin rashes? And autoimmunity?

If you answered, “yes, yes, yes!” then I'm sure you're desperately seeking ways to put these miserable conditions to an end. Luckily, you've come to the right place - I'm about to tell you exactly what's causing these symptoms plus how you can solve the root problem.

You've probably heard it a million times before, but I'll say it again - your gut health is essential to your overall health. All of the horrible symptoms you're experiencing are most likely a result of an out-of-whack gut or unbalanced gut flora. In other words, you've got too many unfavourable microorganisms and not enough favourable ones in your gut.

As a result, your body is unable to digest food properly, eliminate waste and toxins efficiently and communicate with your brain to tell it to stop eating. Thankfully, there are steps you can take to optimise your gut flora and get your overall health back on track. Here are the three you should focus on first!

Three ways to optimise your gut bacteria

#1: Practise meditation to reduce your stress levels
Being chronically stressed out wreaks serious havoc on your gut. If you work a super-busy job and don’t make time every day for self-care, you’ll quickly drive your stress levels through the roof and start experiencing symptoms of an unhealthy gut. If you’re wondering how you can show yourself some love to keep your stress levels at bay, I highly recommend meditation like deep breathing or yoga. As little as 10 minutes of yoga per day is enough downtime to help reduce your stress levels significantly – so give it a try!

#2: Get enough plant-based and fermented foods in your diet
The simplest way to get to the root cause of gut problems? Take a look at what you’re putting on your plate – your food will tell you everything you need to know! Unfortunately, in today’s modern world, most store-bought foods are brimming with additives and excess sugar, which are bad for more than just your waistline! These ingredients also promote the growth of yeast and unfriendly bacteria in your gut. They also turn on unfavourable genes!

Your favourite foods like white bread, pasta, burgers, fries and milkshakes all switch on inflammation-promoting genes. But plant-based foods like broccoli, as well as fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi, do the opposite and turn on anti-inflammatory gene pathways. Needless to say, you should make sure you’re eating enough plant-based and fermented foods to improve your bacterial diversity. This diet change may even help you lose some weight!

#3: Think twice before you take antibiotics
Doctors prescribe antibiotics for just about anything nowadays – even something as unserious as an ear infection. Sure, antibiotics are great because they’re the ultimate quick-fix for just about any type of infection – but they’re also very damaging to your gut flora.

So, the next time your doctor wants to prescribe antibiotics for an infection you’re suffering from, ask yourself if it’s completely necessary. You must also keep in mind that in most cases, immune system support and rest is enough to resolve an infection. Only if you’ve got a seriously difficult-to-treat bug, should you resort to antibiotics, as these medicines can alter your gut flora for up to one year and cause serious metabolic problems as well as cause weight gain... yikes!

Make these three simples changes and you’ll be well on your way to optimal gut health and a better life!
