Easy morning meditation tips
If you’ve tried to zen out in the past and thought you “failed” because you couldn’t shut off your thoughts, don’t worry. “Forget about clearing your mind,” Fletcher says. “The brain thinks involuntarily, just like the heart beats involuntarily.”
To give it a whirl, sit with your back supported, then repeat the word “one” in your mind over and over, “almost like a mantra,” Fletcher advises. “When you realise you’re on a thought field trip, gently bring yourself back to ‘one.'”
Start with five minutes a day: “Do it before breakfast” As you get more comfortable, increase your session by one minute at a time.
