Vitamin D could reduce your risk of diabetes by as much as 60%

by , 17 April 2013

This safe, natural remedy could spare you a lifetime of painful insulin injections and miserable meals. But before I give you more details, first I need you to do something... Forget everything mainstream medicine has ever told you about type I diabetes.

That’s what a group of researchers from Harvard’s School of Public Health did recently in a groundbreaking study, set to be published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. And what they discovered was shocking!

The researchers dismantled everything we thought we knew about type I diabetes. Assumptions like: It only affects children, or it’s purely genetic.

You see, more and more people are being diagnosed with this health-threatening, organ-damaging disease in their 50s and beyond.

So, these Harvard researchers set out to find out why.

They analysed blood samples from active military personnel and found that those who were diagnosed with adult-onset type I diabetes often shared one surprising trait... They all had remarkably low levels of vitamin D in their blood.

These researchers found that by simply maintaining adequate levels of vitamin D, you could slash your risk of developing type I diabetes by up to as much as 60%!

So, this simple vitamin supplement, that costs just a couple of rands per day may be able to keep you from ever developing type I diabetes.

Shocking, right?

These researchers didn’t exactly stumble across this powerful remedy.

They had been studying the promising effects of using vitamin D to treat multiple sclerosis, a devastating auto immune disorder, and extended their research to other auto immune conditions — like type I diabetes.

You can help reduce your risk of diabetes by keeping your vitamin D blood levels at or above 75 nanomoles per litre. In most cases, you can get all the vitamin D you need by spending 20 minutes in the sun - with your face and arms exposed. Or you can supplement with about 4,000 IU of vitamin D per day.

There’s never been an easier and more inexpensive way to protect yourself from a devastating and life-threatening disease.

Vitamin D is also good for your heart and may help shield you from certain cancers.

Imagine if you could throw away your needles, get off the insulin and never worry about blindness, amputation or worse...

Daily insulin injections are a distant memory for Catherine Downs now.

In fact, the 56-year old diabetic has almost forgotten she ever had full-blown type II diabetes.

No more syringes. She's even lowered her hypoglycaemic prescription to only 2mg per day. And get this… She's eating like a normal person again, sugary sweets and all.

How did she do it? She found out about…
