Struggling to control your type II diabetes? Insist on this test - it could save your life!

by , 29 April 2014

Type I diabetes generally shows up when you're a child or teenager. This is also known as insulin dependent diabetes. It's an auto-immune disease and the patient develops antibodies for insulin. But if you're obese and doctors diagnose you with diabetes in adulthood, they automatically assume you suffer from type II diabetes. And they don't bother testing your blood for antibodies. That's a big mistake! And you need to fix it today…

If you have:

•           Stubborn excess weight that hangs over your belt no matter what you do,
•           Urgent cravings for sweets, chocolates, chips...
•           And mood swings that often ruin your day

You could need some help balancing your blood sugar levels.

Make this one simple test mandatory in your diabetes support programme

There’s another type of diabetes hardly mentioned: Latent autoimmune diabetes or type 1.5 diabetes.

This kind of diabetes shows up later in adult life, but has the same characteristics as type I diabetes. It’s insulin dependent and diet, exercise and oral medications will do little to help manage it..

So if you were diagnosed with type II diabetes as an adult and you’re struggling to keep your BG and A1C levels under control, speak to your doctor about having an antibody test. It could reveal you have latent autoimmune diabetes, not type II diabetes, and that you need insulin treatment straight away!

Daily insulin injections are a distant memory for Catherine Downs now...

In fact, the 56-year old diabetic has almost forgotten she ever had full-blown type II diabetes.

No more syringes. She's even lowered her hypoglycaemic prescription to only 2mg per day. And get this… She's eating like a normal person again, sugary sweets and all.

How did she do it? She found out about an unknown sugar-buster hiding in a most unlikely place... Find out what it is here...

Don’t take your diagnosis for granted, insist on an antibody test to rule out insulin diabetes

If you’re doing everything your doctor recommended and are still struggling to control your diabetes, insist on an antibody test to rule our Latent autoimmune diabetes.

And if you’re obese and suspect you may have diabetes, remember to ask for this test upfront. It could even save your life!
