In the study, published by the American Diabetes Association, the participants followed a standardised meal plan for two days. The two groups either consumed two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or water with 28g of cheese.

They then swapped over after a wash out period so that the other participants consumed the vinegar.

The study found that those who took the vinegar reduced their fasting blood sugar by 4% in the morning.
