How to keep your blood sugar balanced…

Besides keeping your brain sharp, watching your blood sugar is important so you don't slip into the pre-diabetes range, which can spiral into full-blown diabetes...

The key is to reduce your intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates (anything that goes to the mill).

Also, increase your intake of healthy fats, such as olive oil, avocados, fatty fish like tuna and sardines, nuts, seeds and eggs.

And increase your fibre intake, starting with bran oats for breakfast, berries, pears, melon, oranges, broccoli, carrots, sweetcorn and potatoes with the skin.
