Recent study finds pollution could increase your risk of dementia by 40%...
And a humble food could protect your brain from this deterioration...

Researchers from several universities in London ran a study, now published in the medical journal BMJ, involving 131 000 people over a seven year period.

The participants were between the ages of 50 and 79 in 2004 when the study began, and none of them suffered from dementia at the time.

The researchers used the participants' home addresses to estimate how much pollution they had been exposed to over the years. They then monitored their brain health, and over the seven years in which the study ran, 2% of the participants developed full blown dementia.

The study showed that the participants living in the more heavily polluted areas had a 40% higher risk of developing dementia compared to those in the lowest polluted areas.

The best source of omega-3 is from fatty fish, including salmon, sardines, Mackerel, cod liver oil, anchovies and herring.

If you don't eat fatty fish three times per week, or don't like the taste of it, you can take an omega-3 supplement, which you can buy at any good health shop.
