For millions of years, people have been drinking tea. It's been heralded for its health benefits, including weight loss, boosting the immune system, soothing pain, and protecting the brain and the heart against disease...
But there's one thing that can make it lethal - read on to find out what it is...
When tea-drinking can become unhealthy for you...
Many teas, and especially green tea has been found to protect against cancer
- this is because of a compound in it called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which is a powerful antioxidant.
It scavenges free radicals in the body - these are unstable molecules which cause damage and disease... It mops them up and ushers them out of the body before they can unleash trouble on your health.
But there's one important detail about drinking tea - or even coffee for that matter - that can make something as healthy as tea lethal...
It's all about the temperature at which you drink your tea. If you like to drink your tea piping hot, it's best to start accustoming yourself to enjoying it less hot, according to a study by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Keep reading to find out what this study uncovered and how hot you can go when sipping your tea...

Scientists have discovered a Natural Compound that’s been shown to DESTROY these cancer stem cells…
In a major study, published in the journal Anticancer Research, scientists identified EIGHT different ways in which this natural compound destroys cancer, including:
Inhibiting COX-2, an enzyme that causes chronic inflammation, which can lead to cancer.
Impeding the formation of new blood vessels near cancer cells – which causes the cancer cells to starve to death.
Inducing a tumour suppressing gene that deactivates cancer stem cells.
Improving communication between healthy cells, allowing them to recognise cancer cells as threats.
Disrupting the communication between cancer stem cells and other cancer cells.
Stopping cancer from spreading in the body.
And, preventing the regrowth of cancer stem cells.
There are hundreds more studies like this one that show just how powerful this Natural Compound really is against cancer stem cells.
In fact, there are over 1,500 citations in the US National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database, that prove its significant anti-cancer activity.

Chinese study finds drinking piping hot tea can cause cancer
The researchers tracked more than 450,000 people over a 9 year period. They found that those who drank hot tea were more likely to develop cancer of the oesophagus.
The hot tea damages the cells in the lining of the oesophagus and causes chronic inflammation - which is a major risk-factor for cancer.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) also found in earlier research that drinking hot beverages can cause cancer.
It advises people to wait until the beverage is at 60 degrees Celsius before sipping it. That's still steaming hot - but not scolding hot.
So keep enjoying your cup of tea - as often as you like - but be sure to let it cool a little before drinking it.
