News today is - you don't need a knife to conquer breast cancer for good… But you may need a fork.
That's because according to new research from China, beating breast cancer may be as easy as eating a serving of salmon, tuna or sardines.
Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring
cancer. It’s also the leading cause of
cancer death among women. If proven preventive measures aren’t implemented, the diagnosis of new cases over the next decade will hit shattering levels.
Research suggests that nutrition plays a powerful role in preventing
cancer. And when it comes to nutrition advice for preventing
breast cancer, one food overlooked is oily fish.
Fish oil – a must have for preventing breast cancer
A new study of 20,000
breast cancer cases found that eating oily fish twice a week may be all it takes to drop the risk of breast
cancer by 14%!
Oily fish such as salmon, tuna and sardines are packed with n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) that prevent inflammation and boosts the body’s
immune system.
Researchers from Zhejiang University in China analysed studies of more than 800,000 women and 20,000 cases of breast cancer. They found those who incorporated the most PUFAs in their diet had a much lower risk of developing breast cancer.
For every tenth of a gram that women increased their daily consumption of PUFAs, they dropped their cancer risk by 5%. The women who consumed the most oily fish had a 14% lower risk of ever developing life-threatening breast cancer.
Two servings a week is all you need
The best part of the study is just one or two servings a week of oily fish is all you need to give your body all the PUFAs it needs to give you an edge in the war against breast cancer.
Include sardines, salmon and tuna into your weekly menu. You just might get all three of the Big C’s - cancer, chemo and cutting - out of your life forever.
