Tip #1: Reduce your cancer risk by keeping fruit out of the fridge
Cold fruit contains fewer cancer-fighting nutrients than those kept at room temperature.
For example, studies show that tomatoes stored outside the fridge contain double the cancer-fighting quantity of betacarotene and 20 times more lycopene.
Tip #2: Reduce your cancer by not microwaving your veg
Stop nuking your veggies in the microwave, steam them instead. One Spanish study found microwaving veggies destroys up to 97% of vegetables cancer-protective flavonoids.
Tip #3: Reduce your cancer risk by chucking out scented products
Think sitting in traffic is bad for you? There’s something worse, sitting at home. 
This because the air in your home contains more pollution that the air outdoors. And while tobacco smoke is by far the worst culprit, experts say that many of the organic compounds in cleaning products, air fresheners and scented candles are carcinogenic. 
So chuck yours away today. Use neutral smelling products and limit your exposure by opening windows and doors to keep your home ventilated.
Tip #4: Reduce your cancer risk by not overdoing it on the salt
Studies have directly linked your salt intake to 14% of all stomach cancer cases. But you can protect yourself and your family by making sure you don’t ingest more than 6g each day. 
Just don’t think hiding your salt shaker will do the trick. Check the sodium content on shop-bought foods to ensure they don’t contain too much. 
Tip #5: Reduce your cancer risk by embracing the dark
Prolonged exposure to artificial light at night, is a high risk factor for several cancers, including breast and prostate.
Experts suspect this is because of the effect elevated cortisol levels have on squashing your immune system
Melatonin, your body’s natural sleep hormone, on the other hand, prevents the growth of some cancers.
So sleep in complete darkness. Use blackout blinds or an eye mask if your bedroom lets in too much light from outside. 
Easy right? That’s what we thought.
