Did you know that looking after your teeth can help you prevent cancer?
Remember how when you were a child, your mother used to urge you to brush your teeth every day to prevent cavities, tooth loss and gum disease? Turns out she was onto something way more than that…

According to a new study published in the British Medical Journal, poor oral health could also boost your risk of cancer. At first this may seem surprising, but when you think it through, it makes a lot of sense…

Inadequate brushing leads to inflammation, which is a hallmark of cancer. And this isn't the first time that dental problems have been linked to a deadly disease. We've known for some time now that poor dental health can cause problems like cardiovascular disease, too…

You see, when infectious bacteria flourish in your mouth, they migrate to your circulatory system and ultimately damage your heart. But back to how neglecting your oral health can cause cancer in your body…

A Swedish study finds that bad dental health can up your risk of early death due to cancer by a whopping 80%

For the study, researchers followed nearly 1,400 subjects for 24 years. What they found is that subjects with significant dental plaque, and the bacteria that creates plaque, tended to die prematurely.

The researchers suggested that poor oral hygiene can up your risk of early death due to cancer by a frightening 80%. These findings suggest a compelling link between oral health issues like gum disease and cancer.

Because cancer is a very complex disease and is caused by numerous things, the researchers said that more research needs to be done. However, there are other studies that make similar determinations and back this one up…

For example, researchers at the State University of New York reviewed the gum health of 266 patients with head and neck cancer. They looked at the bone loss in each tooth socket as evidence of serious gum disease.

Researchers said that for every millimetre of bone loss, the patient’s risk of bone cancer multiplied by four. They didn’t account for high-risk behaviours such as smoking and alcohol consumption.

Foods like sweets and chocolates and drinks like soft drinks are the biggest culprits when it comes to tooth decay and infections. Nutrient-dense whole foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, will help keep inflammation and bay, boost your dental health and reduce your risk of infection.

For further dental support, you may want to look into natural supplements, botanicals and nutrients, which are also fantastic for fending off inflammation and infections. Research has actually proven that Tibetan botanical formula can drastically reduce gum inflammation, regulate inflammation, support circulation and strengthen oral health.
