Treat your gout with six food items in your home

Uncomfortable and painful; a spell of gout can leave you debilitated and in a lot of pain. If you suffer from gout, keep these six food items handy to ensure you can fight the symptoms of gout as they start.

If you only suffer from gout and it’s not because of another illness you’re on treatment for, the onset is probably from high levels of uric acid in your body. 
 
You’re aware of the pain and inflammation that results from the uric acids forming crystals in certain joints, and you know the exact feeling of the onset of gout. 
 
So here are some items you can find in your home that provide you with relief from the very first tingle that a spell of gout is on its way.
 
Look in your kitchen cupboards for one of these simple gout relief remedies 
 
Gout home remedy #1: Apple cider vinegar
 
Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink this three times a day. 
 
Gout home remedy #2: Ginger root
 
Make a paste out of ginger root and apply it directly to the affected area. You can also mix equal parts of fenugreek powder, turmeric powder and dried ginger root powder in a glass of warm water. Combined, the powders should be about a teaspoon full. 
 
Eat your ginger when you have sushi! And add ginger to your recipes when cooking. 
 
Gout home remedy #3: Baking soda
 
Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda in a glad of water and drink.
 
Gout home remedy #4: Lemon juice
 
Mix the juice of a lemon with half a teaspoon of baking soda. Allow the paste to mix and then fill the glass with water and drink.
 
Gout home remedy #5: Cherries
 
You can eat 15 – 20 delicious cherries a day to ward off gout symptoms. Cherry juice is also highly recommended, and is healthy and delicious.
 
Gout home remedy #6: Epsom salts
 
Be warned that you mustn’t eat the Epsom salts; rather add two cups of the salts to your bath water and lie in the water until the water cools.
