Leg cramps keeping you from your sleep? This can help...
You know what it's like - you're stirred from your sleep and realise it's because your leg is hurting.

The reason your legs cramp up at night and how to prevent that...

Leg cramps can happen because of sedentary lifestyle as well as muscle exertion - so if you're exercising to keep fit - try ease into the exercises more gently and don't overdo it. 
Don't cross your legs when sitting or restrict blood flow to your legs in any way during the day - walk around often, but also avoid standing for too long without a break. At night, don't use heavy, restrictive bedding or pyjamas.

The other reason your legs could be cramping up is medication...

There's quite a long list of medication that has leg cramps as a side-effect: diuretics, statin drugs, asthma medication, blood pressure meds and Alzheimer's meds. Check the package insert of your medication to see if your medication could be the problem. If that is the case, ask your doctor if there isn't an alternative you could take for your condition.
