Sure, slow and steady may win the race, but no one want to plod along like a tortoise when it comes to weight loss. Especially not when warm weather is right around the corner!

Not to worry, though - there are a number of foods that promote quick weight loss. Are you ready to get your weight loss goals on hyper-speed? Then make sure you add these foods to your diet!

Eat these four foods for quick weight loss

#1: Almonds
A study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition revealed that almonds, which are rich in the amino acid L-arginine, help burn more carbohydrates and fat during workouts. Another study that looked at obese and overweight adults found that, combined with a calorie-controlled diet, eating just over a quarter cup of almonds can reduce weight more effectively than a snack comprised of safflower oil and complex carbohydrates after just two weeks.
 
#2: Lentils
In a four week-long Spanish study, researchers found that eating a calorie-restricted diet including four servings of legumes a week sped up weight loss more effectively than an equivalent diet that didn’t include lentils. What’s more, those who ate the legume-rich diet saw improvements in their systolic blood pressure and LDL – that’s the bad type – cholesterol.

#3: Grapefruit
A study published in the journal Metabolism found that eating half a grapefruit before a meal can help whittle your waistline by up to 2.5 cm in just six weeks. The researchers attribute the fat-zapping effects of grapefruit to its healthy dose of phytochemicals. Just make sure you get the green light from your doctor before adding grapefruit to your diet, as is can negatively interact with some medications.
 
#4: Vitamin D-fortified yoghurt
According to a Nutritional Journal study, supplementing your diet with a combination of vitamin D and calcium can just about double the weight results. In the 12 week-long experiment, the people who’d taken these two nutrients – which are abundant in some yoghurts, like vitamin D-fortified kinds – lost two tunes more fat than the other group.
