This dangerous but legal drug is prescribed for young children every day...

by , 06 June 2013

Popular amphetamine-based drugs are potentially the most addictive ADHD drugs around. And, they don't just affect struggling school kids...

Even sports figures who make millions per year get suspended for using these drugs... Plus thousands more people who's stories we never get to hear about.

One NFL player explained that taking ADHD drugs gave him energy. "It's like a drinking an energy drink", he said.

Another user - this time a high school student - took amphetamine to improve his grades.

Millions of prescriptions are filled for these drugs every year. The side effects include depression, mood swings, heart irregularities and psychosis during withdrawal.

Amphetamine addiction is flying under the radar. And, unlike hardcore street drugs, these drugs are available from any doctor.

Meanwhile, there are several natural solutions available for ADHD...

Starting with a thorough allergy and sensitivity screening. Every ADHD-diagnosed child Dr Wright has ever worked with has had significant allergies to foods (sometimes even healthy foods, although dairy products tend to be the primary culprits).

Also, all ADHD children are sensitive to some of the molecules naturally present in their own bodies - particularly neurotransmitters and hormones.

In this case, desensitising against neurotransmitters such as serotonin, adrenalin, GABA and others has been of great benefit.

Another factor to consider is, some ADHD behaviour can actually be triggered by fluorescent and other artificial lighting. Try switching to “full-spectrum” fluorescent or incandescent lights to see if that helps.

You’ll need to work with a doctor skilled in natural medicine to tailor a programme for your specific needs (or your child's). Contact the South African Society of Integrative Medicine and ask for a doctor in your area -  www.integrativemedicine.co.za
