Have Fibromyalgia? It's not just in your head...

by , 28 August 2013

Fibromyalgia has always been a mysterious disease. Now a new scientific breakthrough is shedding light on it. Before now, doctors were sure that Fibromyalgia was a psychosomatic disease that manifests pain in the body. But the latest research proves that's not the case. Read on to discover what the REAL cause of Fibromyalgia is...

Fibromyalgia is hard to live with. Not only is there chronic, prolonged pain... The sleeplessness and fatigue are just as bad. What’s even worse is that doctors don’t take the disease seriously.

Most doctors insist that Fibromyalgia is just in the patient's head...

Doctors often ignore Fibromyalgia patients, referring them to therapists instead. After all, there’s no clear cause for the pain, so doctors concluded that it must all be in the patients’ head.

But sufferers of Fibromyalgia know the pain is very real

The doctors and big pharmaceutical companies are finally catching up with what patients have been saying for years…

The pain of Fibromyalgia is real!

New research in the journal Pain shows a massive breakthrough in Fibromyalgia research, reports MedicalDaily. The pain is very real, but it's not in the brain where all the scientists have been looking.

The secret to Fibromyalgia pain is in the skin

The research found that Fibromyalgia sufferers had extra blood vessels around the nerves in their skin. Particularly the nerves that control the 'goosebumps' effect of your skin by contracting hair follicles.

Dr Frank L. Rice, senior researcher of the study, said that Fibromyalgia pain isn’t rooted where they expected to find it. He said, "instead of being in the brain, the pathology consists of excessive sensory nerve fibers around specialised blood vessel structures located in the palms of the hands."

Just goes to show that doctors are wrong all the time. As long as patients keep voicing and owning their own experiences, science will eventually catch up.
