#1: Deep-fried foods
Deep fried foods like chips and fried chicken, and other greasy foods like burgers, pizzas and doughnuts can cause painful bloating because they’re chockfull of fats and oils, so your stomach takes much longer to break them down and digest them properly.
#2: Salty foods
Salt is a well-known culprit of painful bloating. Foods that are high in salt cause your body to retain water, which results in puffiness around your midsection. Sodium is found in foods like smoked, cured or salted meats, frozen breaded meats and dinners, canned entrees and salted nuts. It can even show up in some unlikely foods, so make sure you read your food labels! If you’re a sucker for salt, try flavouring your food with herbs and spices instead.

#3: Spicy foods
Foods that contain spices like black pepper, chilli powder, cloves, nutmeg, curry powder, onions, garlic, mustard, tomato sauce or vinegar are known to stimulate the release of stomach acid, which can cause gas and bloating.
#4: Dairy products
If you don’t digest lactose – or milk sugar – well, consuming dairy products like cow’s milk and yoghurt can cause you pain
and bloating. If you suspect that you’re lactose intolerant, you should consult a dietician to make sure you get enough calcium in your diet without consuming any dairy.
