Here's how more fluid can help you maintain your eye health

by , 11 August 2014

As you know, your body needs water to function properly. And it's not only important for the inside of your body, it's also important for the outside.

If you don't have enough water in your body, neither will the parts exposed to the environment.

Think about your skin. If you don't drink enough water, your skin loses its moisture and it becomes dry and more rigid.

The same happens to your eyes. They need fluid so they can move around in their sockets smoothly but they also need the fluid to keep clean.

You can just imagine what happens when your eyes don't have enough fluid. It spells disaster for your eye health all round.

So use these two ways to keep the fluid in your eyes at optimal levels so you don't ruin your eye health.

Water is essential to your eye health! Here are two ways you can make sure your eyes stay moist

#1. Keep your eyes moist by blinking

You may not think you have to consider the amount of times you blink because your body does that automatically. But when you’re reading or looking at a computer screen, how many times do you forget to blink? And this is why both these activities can cause dry, strained eyes.

When you blink, the insides of your eyelids bring more moisture over the surface of your eye. This helps to clean them and wipe away small particles of dust and dirt that may harm your eye health if left on the surface of your eye.

Be sure to consciously blink to keep your eye health in shape

#2. Drink more water

It’s not just your body that gets dehydrated; it’s your eyes too. So make sure you drink enough water throughout the day so you maintain a healthy fluid balance for your body and eyes.

These two tips will help you keep your eyes moist and healthy. So use them to maintain your eye health.
