Drink this calcium-rich green smoothie every day for strong, healthy bones

Serves: 2

Ingredients:
  • 2 baby oranges, peeled
  • 2 cups organic kale, rinsed and chopped (you can use spinach if you prefer)
  • 1 medium banana, frozen and peeled
  • 1 cup fresh almond milk (or any other nut milk of your choice)
  • Handful of ice cubes (optional, depending on how chilled you like your smoothie)
 
What to do:
  1. Start by adding the liquids to your blender, followed by the soft fruit. Add the greens to your blender last.
  2. Blend on high-speed for 30 to 60 seconds, or until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Decant into two tall glasses and serve immediately.
 

How to make your green smoothie even tastier

  • If you don’t enjoy the taste of dark leafy greens like kale or spinach, add in a spoonful of honey or maple syrup to help mask it.
  • Add a cup of cubed mango or pineapple to the mix if you enjoy a sweeter, fruitier smoothie.
  • To up the calcium content of your smoothie even further, add in fresh, young coconut meat. One cup of coconut meat will increase the drink’s calcium level by another 10% to 17%.
